Why More Families Chose AFH

What Is an Adult Family Home?

An Adult Family Home (AFH) is a residential care setting for a small group of adults—typically up to eight—who need support with daily living. Unlike larger facilities, AFHs offer a warm, home-like environment with personalized, attentive care that’s often hard to find in institutional settings. These homes are licensed by the state and follow strict regulations to ensure safety, quality, and accountability.  Residents receive help with tasks like bathing, dressing, medication management, meals, and mobility—all in a familiar, comfortable home. With fewer residents and consistent caregivers, AFHs provide a strong sense of stability, dignity, and connection—ideal for those with chronic health needs, memory loss, or anyone seeking a more personal level of care.
